I saw a post saying a card like mine sold for a huge amount. Is that real?

Often it is an asking price, not a sale: anyone can list a card for any amount. Look at completed sales for the same card in the same grade. See Got old cards? (step 2).

Should I get my old cards restored or cleaned before grading?

No. Pressing, polishing, scratch removal and cleaning with sprays or solvents count as altering the card. PSA and CGC mark altered cards "Authentic Altered" with no number grade, and you still pay the fee. A gentle wipe with a dry microfibre cloth is the only safe step.

How do I get my cards graded from the UK?

Either set up an account directly with a grader (PSA, CGC, Beckett or TAG), or use a UK submission service that posts them for you. Ask for an honest condition check first. Details on Got old cards?.

How rare is a perfect 10 on an old holo?

Very rare. For example, PSA has given a 10 to only about 1 in 200 Unlimited Base Set Charizards it has graded. The table on Got old cards? has more examples.
